Youth leaders and political stakeholders from across Yobe State have rallied behind Governor Mai Mala Buni, endorsing his inclusive leadership style and pledging continued support for his administration’s vision at the 2026 Yobe Leadership and Innovation Summit.

The endorsement formed part of a communiqué issued at the end of the one-day summit held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Timbab Continental Hotel, Damaturu, which brought together participants from all 17 local government areas of the state.

The summit, convened to reflect on governance strides and chart a path for sustained development, highlighted what participants described as the “transformative and visionary leadership” of Governor Buni, particularly in the areas of youth inclusion, infrastructure development, institutional strengthening, and human capital investment.

The participants noted that the governor’s deliberate inclusion of young people in governance which opened up opportunities for active participation in policy formulation and implementation, fostering a new generation of responsible and forward-looking leaders in the state.

In the communiqué signed by the Co-Convener of the summit, Alhaji Baba Shehu, the youths reaffirmed their commitment to party unity, loyalty, and grassroots mobilisation, with a view to strengthening the electoral base of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ensuring victory in upcoming elections.

They further acknowledged the administration’s achievements across key sectors, including education, healthcare delivery, infrastructure, commerce, and post-conflict recovery efforts, which they said have positioned Yobe on the path of resilience and inclusive growth.

While applauding the governor’s efforts, the summit advocated for the institutionalisation and expansion of youth inclusion across all tiers of governance, including local government councils, the state and national assemblies, and other strategic political structures.

The communiqué also stressed the need to strengthen collaboration among young leaders and stakeholders across the state, with a focus on sustaining the administration’s legacy and promoting continuity.

Participants resolved to deepen networking and build a cohesive youth bloc committed to advancing the vision of the Buni administration through loyalty, strategic engagement, and sustained support.
