Delta State Chapter of African Democratic Congress (ADC) has elected Hon. George Timinimi as the state chairman and Hon. Ozegbe Lawrence as the state secretary.
Other elected exco members are Rev. J.F.K. Urhukpe, state treasurer; Hon Fred Akpewe, State publicity secretary and Prince Diji who clinched the position of state financial secretary.
The congress also saw the emergence of members of other political parties including the Labour Party (Obidients), PDP and APC as well as other tendencies into the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the party.
The emergence of the new leadership of the party which was through consensus followed several meetings of leaders and critical stakeholders of the coalition parties that formed the ADC.
The election which was supervised by the chairman of the Delta State ADC Congress Committee, Senator Clever Ikisikpo and other members of the committee was witnessed by members of the party from across the three senatorial districts of the state.
In his post election speech the new chairman of the ADC in Delta State, Barr George Timinimi promised to further unite the party and bring all members and interests on board, assuring that the executive committee would be transparent, fair and firm in running the affairs of the party .
He also promised to carry every one along in the collective effort at ensuring the party’s victory at the polls and called for the support of all to succeed in the tasks ahead.
Earlier at the congress venue, various leaders of the party had sued for unity in a deliberate and strategic move geared towards repositioning and strengthening the party as an indivisible and formidable force ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The chairman of the Congress Committee, Senator, Clever Ikisikpo said the efforts made to bring the different blocs and tendencies to the table had paid off and appreciated the ADC members for their understanding and peaceful conduct during the congress.
