The Rabat Court of Appeal has upheld the prison sentences for a group of Senegalese football supporters, confirming the initial ruling of a lower court.
Nine supporters will serve one-year prison terms, while six others received six-month sentences. An additional three supporters were handed three-month jail terms. The fines imposed during the initial trial were also maintained.
However, three of the convicted supporters are expected to be released this Saturday, having completed their three-month sentences.
The appeal court’s decision brings the legal proceedings to a close, as the penalties were reaffirmed without any modifications.
