The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Chief Benjamin Omale, has assured aspirants of a transparent and level playing field ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging them to intensify consultations and grassroots mobilisation for the party.
Omale gave the assurance at the APC State Secretariat in Makurdi when a senatorial aspirant for Benue North-East (Zone A), Arc. John Mlanga Anyom, formally informed the party of his intention to contest the 2027 senatorial election.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Benedict Yawe, Omale described the visit as timely, noting that Mlanga is qualified to vie for the position and encouraging him to broaden consultations across the senatorial district.
The APC chairman also urged the aspirant to mobilise support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, and all APC candidates in 2027 in order to consolidate on what he described as the administration’s developmental progress.
Earlier, the senatorial aspirant, John Mlanga Anyom, said his visit was to identify with the newly inaugurated State Executive Committee and formally declare his ambition to represent Zone A in the Senate.
He commended Governor Alia’s performance in office, saying the administration has recorded notable progress within a short period and requires strong representation at the National Assembly to sustain its development drive.
Mlanga pledged to support the governor’s agenda if elected, particularly in agriculture, healthcare, electricity, and infrastructure, adding that he would sponsor bills aimed at improving livelihoods across Zone A and Benue State.
