ICPC, Niger Assembly To Check Corruption, Promote Transparency

Niger State House of Assembly plans to partner with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for transparency, accountability, and good governance in the State.

This assurance was given during a courtesy visit by the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner of ICPC in Niger State, Mr Kennedy Ebhotemen, to the Speaker of the state assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji

The Speaker, who appreciated the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner’s visit, described it as timely and significant.

He said the 10th Assembly was ready to work closely with the ICPC to advance anti-corruption initiatives and strengthen institutional integrity across the State.

Rt. Hon. Sarkin-Daji noted that the visit would strengthen the existing relationship between the Niger State House of Assembly and the ICPC in their commitment to sustained collaboration for the overall development of the State.

The Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Mr Kennedy Ebhotemen, expressed gratitude to the Speaker and members of the Assembly for the warm reception accorded to him and his team.

He highlighted the Commission’s core functions, including preventing corruption, promoting public awareness of anti-corruption laws, and enforcing compliance with them.
