Actress and Producer Reese Witherspoon, 50, has been talking about the advantages of AI, annoying some of her fans in the process.

Her Instagram post, which got people talking, was captioned “Well…I’ve decided it’s TIME.“ She went on to post that the AI revolution has begun, that she needs to learn all she can about it, and that she will share what she learns with her followers.

“Also, FYI: the jobs women hold are 3x more likely to be automated by AI, yet women are using AI at a rate 25% lower than men on average. We don’t want to be left behind. So…do you want to learn with me?” She said.

The ‘You’re Cordially Invited’ actress started the video by narrating that she was at a book club with 10 women. “I said to the 10 of them, ‘How many of you guys use AI?’ And only three of them used AI. And then I said, ‘How many of the three of you feel like you really know what you’re doing or using it the right way?’ And there was only one person,” she said, adding that if three out of 10 women were the only ones using AI, it means 70% of that group is not keeping up.

“The thing I’ve learned about technology is if you don’t get a little bit of understanding from the very beginning, it just speeds past you. So you have to have little bits of learning just to keep up.”

She pointed out that the younger generation is using technology, calling on fans to follow suit and learn about AI.

While one of her followers said they
They are much happier to see the takes in her comments section than they are about her take on AI, and it was a no (in capital letters) for them. Another noted that they were afraid of the environmental impacts of AI, the lack of regulations and the degradation of human creativity and critical thinking.
