The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has assured of its preparedness to collaborate with the Niger State government to improve health care delivery in the state.
Managing director of the commission, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, made this known during a visit by the state ministry of health at the N-HYPPADEC corporate headquarters in Minna to seek partnership for improved health service.
Yelwa said the commission would be open to the ministry’s initiative for better medical services while recognising efforts aimed at improving health services.
He said health care was a major component of the commission’s mandate because of the health challenges and prevalence of some diseases in the areas covered by the commission .
The managing director said the partnership would go a long way in reducing outreach difficulties and improve services.
Earlier, the commissioner for health, Dr Murtala Bagana gave a breakdown of the state’s health status, saying the ministry was looking forward to collaborating with N-HYPPADEC for stronger health system coordination and governance as well as improve supply chain planning and service delivery performance, as well as increased community trust, health awareness and service uptake.
