Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris, has appointed former Comptroller General of Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) Ahmad Jafar Jega as Amirul-Hajji for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
This was announced in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi by the secretary to the state government, Yakubu Bala Tafida.
The statement noted that, while Jafar will serve as chairman and Amirul-Hajji, 18 others will serve as members of the Hajj delegation for the state.
The members include Hon Hussaini Suleiman Kangiwa, Senator Bala ibn Na-Allah, Umar Muhammed Hadejia (Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State), state’s APC chairman, Muhammed Abubakar, former SSG, Babale Umar Yauri, member, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Garba Muhammed Bena and Hon Suleiman Fana.
Others are Magajin Rafin Gwandu, Aliyu Bello Muh’d, Dr Hali Bala Jikandaudu, Zayyanu Bello Haruna Rasheed, Halima Muhammed Bande, Halima Hassan Kamba, Mustapha Usman Ka’oje, Muhammed Arzika Bawa, Umar Ahmed Saraki, Kadi Sadiq Usman Muktar, Justice Nuradeen Muhammed and Sahabi Boyi Gemu who will serve as the secretary.
The governor mandated the delegation to ensure that they work hand in hand with the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, the National Hajj Commission and airline operators for a smooth conduct of the Hajj exercise.
