Fuji music icon Saheed Osupa has finally broken his silence regarding his long-standing feud with the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, alleging a breach of trust and unfulfilled political promises.
The singer made the revelations following his recent performance at the governorship declaration of Senator Sharafadeen Alli in Ibadan, where he openly endorsed the APC candidate for the 2027 race. Osupa claimed that despite his significant contributions to the 2019 campaign that brought Makinde to power, he was sidelined once the mandate was secured.
According to the Fuji star, he was invited to perform at various rallies under an agreement that he would be “properly rewarded” following the election victory. He further alleged that, beyond musical fees, several personal agreements were completely ignored by the administration.
“They gave me musical work for the governor’s rally in 2019 and negotiated the job, stating they would ‘do me well’ after winning the election. However, they became my enemy after securing the mandate, yet they still refuse to pay for my work,” Osupa stated.
Addressing rumours about a vehicle gift from the state government, the singer clarified that the car was not a luxury gift but a replacement for his own vehicle, which was damaged during the 2019 campaign trail. He insisted that the promised replacement took significant time to materialise and did not equal the original rewards.
