In a thrilling weekend of Nigerian Professional Football League action, veteran forward Ahmed Musa once again proved his worth, netting a dramatic winner as Kano Pillars came from behind to defeat Rivers United 2-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
The visitors drew first blood in the 81st minute when Abdullahi Musa found the net, putting Rivers United on the brink of an away victory. But the home side refused to buckle.
Handsome Surveyor sparked the comeback with a quick equaliser, before the iconic Musa sealed the turnaround with a late strike that sent the Pillars faithful into raptures.
Meanwhile, in a fiercely contested Oriental derby, Rangers reclaimed the summit of the NPFL table with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Enyimba at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Enyimba struck first just four minutes after the restart through Wonah Williams, silencing the home crowd. But Rangers responded with purpose: Chidozie Iwundu levelled matters in the 61st minute, and Ifeanyi Onyebuchi completed the comeback with the winning goal seven minutes later, sending Rangers back to the top.
Elsewhere, defending champions Remo Stars breathed new life into their survival campaign with a commanding 3-0 thrashing of Niger Tornadoes.

Kwara United also boosted their chances of beating the drop, edging Barau FC 2-1. First-half goals from Toheeb Gidado and Saheed Olaniyi put Kwara in control, and although Joseph Atule pulled one back for the visitors in the 66th minute, the home side held on for a vital three points.
In Maiduguri, Shooting Stars staged a resilient comeback to beat El-Kanemi Warriors 2-1. John Zakka had given the hosts a 25th-minute lead, but Qamar Adegoke equalised just after the break.
