Seun Kuti Alleges Plot By Obidients To Kill Him In Detention

Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has made a shocking claim, alleging that supporters of Peter Obi, known as “Obidients,” tried to kill him while he was in police custody.

Speaking during a recent Instagram Live session, Seun claimed the attempt on his life happened while he was being held at the Panti police station in Lagos following his arrest last year. He stated that he kept the story secret until now because of the famous person involved in the alleged plot.

“I told you the Obidient movement tried to finish me, tried to kill me while I was in there,” Seun said to his viewers.

The musician explained that he has refused to name the person behind the plan because they are a figure that many young Nigerians look up to and admire. He suggested that revealing the name would cause a huge scandal and shock the public.

Seun also mentioned that activist Omoyele Sowore had begged him to speak out about the incident at the time, but he chose to remain silent to avoid worsening the political tension in the country.
