The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified why some candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are seeing the message “No Result Yet” when attempting to check their scores.

The clarification was contained in a statement signed by JAMB’s Public Communications Adviser, Fabian Benjamin on Tuesday.

The Board said it has received numerous enquiries from concerned parents and guardians over the status of results belonging to underage candidates.

It explained that the results of such candidates have not been released, hence the system returns the “No Result Yet” notification whenever they try to access their scores.

“Please be informed that results for underage candidates have not been released. When such candidates attempt to check their results, the system will return the message “No Result Yet.”

“As stipulated by regulation, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by 30th September 2026 are eligible to register for and sit the UTME. However, underage candidates may be considered under the exceptional category, provided they demonstrate outstanding ability by scoring 320 and above in the UTME and attaining at least 80 per cent in subsequent screening stages.

“In line with the agreement reached and endorsed by parents of these underage candidates, only those who score 320 and above will be shortlisted and invited to proceed to the next stages of the screening,” the statement added.

The Board further explained that, candidates who successfully scale this stage may then be considered for admission under the exceptional candidates provision.
