Nigerian rapper and singer Zlatan Ibile, born Omoniyi Temidayo Rafael, has recently been honoured by the popular Spanish football giants FC Barcelona, while the former was on a special visit to the famous Spotify Camp Nou.
This visit and the club’s subsequent appreciation are reported as a significant event for Zlatan, who has always been a fan of Barcelona. While at the camp, the singer encouraged the Catalan side of the football team in a motivational speech to go for victory ahead of their game with Celta Vigo.
The Spanish football club shared moments from the visit on its official X, formerly Twitter handle, commemorating the ‘10 Bottles’ singer’s visit to one of football’s most historic grounds.
Zlatan’s appearance formed part of Barcelona’s wider engagement with international cultural figures beyond football. It also signifies the increasing influence of Nigerian music and culture worldwide.
Zlatan took things a notch further by promoting the Barcelona jersey, which displayed the name of his personal clothing brand on the back, in a significant gesture.
