Group Plans To Pick APC Nomination Form For Idris Wase

A group, Wase Equity Project (WEP) has expressed its readiness to buy the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms for the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase.

WEP comprises community leaders, professionals, businessmen and women, youth advocates and farmers across the Wase federal constituency.

The group, in a statement issued in Jos by its publicity secretary, Hon. Mohammed Abubakar Badu, said the move signified a unanimous consensus among the constituents to consolidate the unprecedented gains and developmental strides achieved under Wase’s leadership.

The statement revealed that the funds for this significant gesture were fully realised through a crowdfunding initiative launched on 29th March 2026 and ongoing, adding that this community-driven contribution serves as a collective “Thank You” from the people of Wase.

“The voluntary purchase of these forms is our modest way of appreciating the true, selfless representation of Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase. It is a clear message that his people are not only satisfied with his performance but are demanding that he seeks re-election to continue his transformative work in the Green Chamber.”

But in a swift reaction by some of his constituents under the aegis of Wase Progressives For Equity, Unity and Inclusive Governance, they stated that they have had enough of 20 years of Hon. Idris Ahmad Wase’s representation, calling for a shift toward equitable political inclusion.

The group that turned out in large numbers staged a peaceful protest in Wase town, drawing participants from the four districts of Wase, Lamba, Bashar, and Kadarko.

The group comprises a coalition of committed stakeholders, community leaders, and youth voices, carrying placards and T-shirt inscriptions “20-years-is-Enough,” “Let’s leadership rotate,” “Create Equality for a better Tomorrow,” etc.

In a communique read by Comrade Gunshin Yarlings, secretary of the Concerned Forum, and presented to the Wase LGA Chairman of APC, demanded rotational representation through zoning.
