Social media influencer, Ellie Crampsie, is facing 16 months’ jail time for smuggling more than $200,000 worth of cannabis on an international flight last year.

The 23-year-old influencer has more than 4,000 Instagram followers and 6,000 TikTok followers.

Crampsie appeared in court on April 24, where she was sentenced for her part in smuggling more than 37 pounds of the illegal item in a suitcase when on a flight from Thailand to her home in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, in April 2025, reported the BBC.

Authorities at Edinburgh Airport held her up on April 16, 2025, after they found the drugs hidden in her luggage.

In March, Crampsie pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis to others.

Crampsie alleged in court that she was forced into carrying the drugs by her ex-boyfriend. Her lawyer also presented that she had played “a lesser role” in the drug smuggling and there had been “evidence of pressure,” according to The Times.

During sentencing, Sheriff Graeme Watson conceded that there was a “power imbalance in the relationship” and acknowledged Crampsie had a “lesser degree of culpability,” the media reported.
