The suspect who leaked ‘The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, ‘ a Paramount+ and Nickelodeon series, has been arrested.

The man involved was arrested by authorities in Singapore for leaking the popular animated film sequel after accessing a media server without permission.

According to a report from The Straits Times, authorities laid hold of various electronic devices, and the investigation showed that “the man had gained unauthorised remote access to the server and downloaded the film.”

If found guilty, the 26-year-old suspect could face up to seven years in prison, a fine of up to $50,000, or both.

Last week, a user shared clips of the unreleased animated movie on X (formerly Twitter), alleging that someone at Nickelodeon “accidentally emailed” it. The user appeared frustrated by Paramount’s decision not to release the film in theatres and chose to stream it instead. The user also threatened to post the entire movie online if Paramount did not release a trailer for Legend of Aang.

The posts were served with copyright notices, but the movie had already gone viral, as other users shared it.

The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender was initially scheduled to launch in theatres on October 10, 2025, but was later pushed back to January 30, 2026.

But reports say the movie will not be released in theatres after all and will stream on Paramount+ on October 9, 2026.

After the leak, animator Julia Schoel, who worked on the film, lamented on X that they had worked hard on the movie for years, hoping to celebrate their hard work in theatres, only to find that people had unceremoniously leaked it on Twitter (X).
