Merchant Bank Appoints Lewis Executive Director To Deepen Risk, Governance Structure

In other to strengthen corporate governance, deepening risk management frameworks and enhancing institutional resilience as it pursues its long term growth and transformation agenda, Quest Merchant Bank has announced the appointment of Andrew Lewis, as executive director, Risk Management and executive compliance officer.

The appointment which followed regulatory approval by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), aligned with its focus on strengthening corporate governance, deepening risk management frameworks and enhancing institutional resilience as it pursues its long term growth and transformation agenda.

Announcing the appointment, the bank said Lewis brings over three decades of experience in the financial services industry, cutting across enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance and core banking operations.
He joins the merchant bank from Sterling Financial Holdings Company, where he served as group chief risk officer, providing strategic oversight on integrated risk management systems and enterprise wide risk optimisation across subsidiaries.
In his new role, Lewis is expected to drive operational efficiency, strengthen the bank’s risk culture and ensure alignment with regulatory standards, while supporting sustainable growth.
Commenting on the development, the acting managing director and chief executive officer of Quest Merchant Bank, Afolabi Olorode, said the appointment reflects the institution’s deliberate approach to building a resilient and forward looking organisation.
“Ayo’s appointment reflects our disciplined commitment to building a strong institution anchored on robust governance and sound risk practices. His depth of experience and proven leadership will be instrumental as we continue to execute our strategy and deliver long term value to our clients and stakeholders,” Olorode said.
Lewis holds a degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Lagos and has attended executive programmes at leading global institutions including Stanford University, The Wharton School, London School of Management and Leadership, and Lagos Business School.
