Christian leaders in Lagos State have endorsed Dr Obafemi Hamzat as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Lagos for the 2027 general elections.

Rising from a meeting held at the Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa, Ikeja, the leaders said the endorsement followed a series of spiritual and physical consultations across the state, during which Hamzat emerged as the best candidate.

The spiritual leaders stressed that they have come to realise that Hamzat is God’s choice for the state and are therefore endorsing him.

On behalf of the Christian NGO Coordinating Group, the chairman, Rev Sam Olufemi Ogedengbe, said there is a need for continuity in Lagos and that Hamzat has showed his mettle as a grassroots leader and a man of the people.

According to him, the group comprises over 50 Christian NGOs across Lagos, both in urban and rural areas.

Ogedengbe affirmed that God has revealed that Hamzat is the choice for the Lagos Governorship race.

“Having heard from God that he is the right choice for the state, the group also has prepared to support him financially, morally and spiritually to actualise his dream,” Ogedengbe said

Also corroborating this, the Vice Chairman of the group, Archbishop Kayode Williams, said the group had been supporting Hamzat long before others issued their endorsements.
