The legal dispute between American singer Chris Brown and his former housekeeper, Maria Avila, has escalated as the plaintiff seeks to present graphic photographs of her injuries in their upcoming trial.
Ms Avila, who sued the musician following a 2020 dog attack at his residence, is opposing a move by Mr Brown’s legal team to block the images from being shown to the jury. She argues that the photographs are essential to proving the severity of the mauling and the resulting emotional distress.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Ms Avila’s legal team maintains that the visual evidence is necessary to justify the $90 million in damages she seeks. They contend that without the photos, the jury would be unable to grasp the extent of her pain and suffering fully.
In addition to the dispute over the photographs, Mr Brown’s lawyers are attempting to prevent the plaintiff from referencing the singer’s previous legal history during the proceedings.
The trial is scheduled to begin on June 15 at the Los Angeles Superior Court.
