Ahead of their pivotal Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2026 Sahara Conference matchup against Club Africain this weekend, Maktown Flyers star Jawad Adekoya has pinpointed the key areas his team must sharpen to get back to winning ways.
The Nigerian champions have struggled so far, managing just one win in three games, and are eager to turn things around against the Tunisian side.
Speaking after the loss to Al Ahly, Adekoya emphasized defensive improvements while urging his teammates to carry forward the resilience they displayed in that contest.
“We need to tidy up a few things on defence,” he said. “The offence may have faltered slightly in the fourth quarter against Al Ahly, but I feel like we showed great grit in this game, and we need to carry that over. We need to put this loss behind us and focus on Club Africain on Saturday.”(Today).
Adekoya has been a bright spot for the Flyers, scoring 40 total points so far – 24 of them from three-point range.
The sharpshooter will be crucial as the Flyers aim to hand Club Africain their first defeat of the Sahara Conference.
