Nollywood actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot has announced his intention to seek a fourth term in the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Surulere Constituency I.
On Instagram, Elliot revealed he has officially received his nomination form, signalling his desire to return to the assembly. He said the move is driven by his commitment to continue serving his constituents and to build on the progress recorded during his time in office.
According to him, securing another term would position him as a ranking member, a status he noted would attract added benefits to the constituency.
“My dear good people of Surulere Constituency, I greet you all with profound respect and gratitude. I wish to inform all Surulereans formally… that I have obtained the nomination form to seek a return mandate to the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Surulere Constituency I,” part of his statement read.
He added that his decision is rooted in a desire to consolidate on past achievements and further advance the collective aspirations of the people.
However, reactions to his announcement have been mixed on social media. While some supporters expressed encouragement, others questioned his continued stay in office, with critics suggesting it was time for new representation.
Elliot was re-elected in the 2023 general elections after polling 17,837 votes.
