Former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, and national leader of Kwankwasiyya Movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, have officially joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), formalising their entry into the opposition party with the collection of thier membership cards on Sunday

The two prominent political figures completed the process at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja shortly after Obi announced his exit from African Democratic Congress (ADC) while Kwankwaso didn’t announce his exit from ADC before the latest move.

LEADERSHIP reports Peter Obi had earlier on Sunday announces his resignation from the Opposition coalition party, ADC, citing toxic political climate.

Welcoming th duo into ADC, founder and national leadership of NDC, Senator Seriake Dickson, threw a jibe at their former party over its current leadership travails steeped in unending litigation.

“I want to welcome you to the party that doesn’t know what is called status quo ante bellum. NDC is one of the youngest political families in Nigeria, but a family that, no doubt, is prepared to box above its weight in Nigeria. I welcome you to Nigeria’s fastest-growing and developing political party. I welcome you to a party that has no faction, a party that has no litigation whatsoever,” Dickson stated.
