A book documenting the life and contributions of Professor Ahmed Tijjani Mora to pharmacy regulation in Nigeria will be publicly presented and launched on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, in Kaduna.
The book titled “Professor Ahmed Tijjani Mora: A Pillar of Pharmacy Regulation in Nigeria,” chronicles decades of service by the renowned academic and regulator, whose career has spanned teaching, mentorship and leadership across key pharmaceutical institutions in the country.
According to a document outlining the activities, obtained by LEADERSHIP, the event is scheduled to be held at Abyssinia Hall, Hotel Seventeen, Kaduna, beginning at 10:00 am. It is expected to draw stakeholders from the healthcare sector, academia, government, and the wider public.
Mora, who turns 70 on the day of the launch, graduated as a pharmacist from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1978 and rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice.
Over a career spanning more than 5 decades, he has taught and mentored thousands of students at Ahmadu Bello University, Kaduna State University, and Igbinedion University, Okada.
The book project was initiated by a group of his former students and associates under the aegis of the Prof. A. T. Mora Book Project Committee, chaired by Pharm. Aliyu Jibrin.
According to the committee, the publication seeks to preserve Mora’s legacy and highlight his contributions to strengthening Nigeria’s pharmaceutical regulatory framework.
The work details his involvement with regulatory bodies, including the defunct Pharmacists Board of Nigeria and the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, where he served in various capacities between 1989 and 2023, including as Board Member, Registrar/Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Governing Council.
The book’s foreword was written by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, reflecting MMora’s longstanding relationship with the revered traditional ruler.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State is billed as the Special Guest of Honour, while the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, will attend as the Guest of Honour.
