Havilla University in Nde 3 Corners, Ikom, Cross River State, is set for its 5th matriculation.
The institution extended invitation to the general public to attend the event, which marks the formal admission of new students into the academic community.
Its vice chancellor, Prof. Sylvanus Obi Abang, confirmed the development to LEADERSHIP Friday in a telephone conversation yesterday.
He described the ceremony as “a significant ritual that welcomes fresh students into the institution,” noting that it inducts a new generation of scholars into university life.
The matriculation is scheduled to hold on May 15 at the university’s main campus in Nde 3 Corners, Ikom local government area.
Abang said the occasion would be “a moment of pride for the university community” and an opportunity to inspire the incoming students as they begin their academic journey.
Students matriculating this year will enrol in a range of programmes across several faculties.
These include Nursing Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Accountancy, Human Resources Management, Public Health, Mass Communication, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, and Computer Science, as well as courses under the Faculty of Basic Health Sciences and the Faculty of Management Sciences.
Abang emphasized that the ceremony “would signal the beginning of the fresh students’ journey toward academic excellence,” while also stressing their path toward leadership, innovation, and service to humanity. He urged stakeholders in the academic community not to miss the event.
The Vice Chancellor characterised Havilla University as a place “where dreams are nurtured and destinies are shaped.” He called on attendees to witness what he described as “a new chapter of excellence that would unfold” at the institution.
He further appealed to friends of the university to make themselves available for what he termed a “colourful historic occasion,” inviting the wider public to share in the milestone with the university community.
