About 1,200 elderly citizens of Ogun State benefited from the free medical outreach programme offered by the Women’s Wing of the City Boy Movement in the Ogun West Senatorial District of the state.
The medical outreach programme, which featured free health checks, consultations, and the distribution of drugs for common age-related ailments, also charted a course for grassroots political engagement to garner rural mass support for President Tinubu and Senator Adeola ahead of 2027.
Speaking with journalists on Thursday at the Ilaro headquarters of the Yewa South Local Government Area, venue of the event, the newly decorated Matron of the Movement, Olori Adebisi Olaotan, said the free medical outreach programme was part of the City Boy Movement’s commitment to humanitarian service alongside its political advocacy.
Olaotan explained that the intervention formed part of activities marking the inaugural executive meeting of the Movement in Ogun West Senatorial district and was designed to complement the ongoing efforts at expanding access to basic healthcare for vulnerable Nigerians, particularly senior citizens.
While addressing the Movement, Olaotan expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election for another term, stressing the need for women to continue their grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda recognises the importance of healthcare, especially for the aged. We believe the President needs continuity to consolidate reforms and correct years of systemic neglect.”
“Our goal is not only political mobilisation but also direct intervention that improves lives. Today’s medical outreach shows that commitment”.
Commending the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for the role played towards the emergence of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the consensus gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Olaotan also expressed the confidence that Adeola’s leadership capacity, vision and experience will make him a suitable candidate to lead the state in the next political dispensation.
In her own goodwill message, the Movement’s Women Leader for Ogun West, Alhaja Modinat Adesina, described the gathering as a moment of unity and renewed commitment to the “renewed hope agenda” of the Tinubu administration.
