A governorship aspirant for Bauchi State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Nura Manu, has unveiled plans to initiate a N100 billion project to boost the state’s economy.

Manu stated this while addressing journalists after appearing before the party’s screening committee for governorship aspirants in the forthcoming primary election.

The former Bauchi State finance commissioner said the fund would support the commercialisation of agriculture and small-scale enterprises in line with his three-point agenda for the state.

“The N100 billion I am talking about is a fund I am planning to bring for the state. It is meant to support the commercialisation of agriculture and small-scale enterprises. It is part of my three-point agenda for the state,” he said.

The governorship aspirant expressed satisfaction with the screening process but opted for a direct primary election to make the contest competitive.

“The committee engagement has been interactive, and we’ve interacted.

They asked many questions, and we answered as best we could.

“Well, I am not aware of any consensus in Bauchi. I have been preparing for elections. I have no intention of stepping down for anybody, so I am not aware of that,” Manu added.
