BBNaija Winner’s Father, Odiniya, Speaks On Dispute With Daughter

IHon. Emmanuel Godson Odiniya, the father of Big Brother Naija winner Ilebaye Odiniya, has shared his side of the story regarding the recent conflict with his daughter.

In a statement on Sunday, May 10, 2026, Mr Odiniya explained that the disagreement began due to a lack of respect and communication. He noted that he worked hard to help her win the reality show by using his influence to get people to vote for her, but felt his efforts were not appreciated after she returned.

The father claimed that the latest problem began when he asked her for a loan to cover a medical check-up in Dubai. He alleged that while Ilebaye told him she had no money, he later saw her spending large sums at a friend’s wedding.

“I told my daughter I was short of funds and asked her to lend me some money for my health check. She said she didn’t have any,” he said.

Mr Odiniya also mentioned that there have been several other instances of disrespect within the family. He said he chose to speak out because he was unhappy with how things were going, despite his love for his daughter.

The family dispute became public after reports of a physical fight led to the police getting involved. Ilebaye has not yet released an official statement in response to her father’s specific claims.
