A man identified as Kelvin Evans has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing unreleased music belonging to American superstar Beyoncé.
The incident occurred last summer in Atlanta, just two days before the singer’s Cowboy Carter tour stop in the city.
According to investigators, surveillance footage captured Evans breaking into a rented SUV used by a member of Beyoncé’s team. During the break-in, a flash drive containing unreleased tracks was stolen.
Evans pleaded guilty on Tuesday to several charges related to the theft. While he was originally facing up to six years in prison, he accepted a plea deal that reduced his sentence to two years behind bars.
Prosecutors noted that Evans was also linked to other vehicle break-ins in the area.
