Mavin Records founder, Don Jazzy, has revealed that it took him less than a minute to realise that Afrobeats sensation, Ayra Starr, was destined for global stardom.

Speaking in a recent interview with the Creatorium podcast, the veteran music executive recounted the moment he first encountered the singer’s talent online. Don Jazzy noted that he was immediately struck by several covers Ayra Starr had performed, specifically highlighting her rendition of songs by legendary artiste 2Face Idibia.

“It didn’t take one minute,” he stated, reflecting on the discovery. “At the time that she came into the game, you could tell that a new character had been unlocked that we had never seen before.”

The producer emphasised that her unique character and musical style stood out as a fresh addition to the industry, marking a departure from existing trends.
