Former Juventus midfielder Sunday Oliseh believes the outcome of this season’s UEFA Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain will largely depend on the tempo of the match.

Speaking on the Oliseh Global Football Insights show, the former Super Eagles coach explained that Arsenal would benefit from a slower, controlled contest, while PSG’s chances would improve significantly if the French champions succeed in increasing the intensity of the game.

“For this final, one thing is very certain,” Oliseh said. “If the tempo of the game is low, Arsenal will win. If Paris Saint-Germain raises the tempo and it becomes high, we are seeing the defending champions lifting the trophy.”

Oliseh praised Arsenal’s defensive organisation, describing Mikel Arteta’s side as one of the strongest defensive units in world football. He noted that the Gunners’ consistency throughout the Champions League campaign gives them a strong psychological advantage heading into the final.

“They don’t concede easily,” he added. “If you look at it statistically, Arsenal should win because they have not lost one game in the Champions League this season.”

Despite Arsenal’s defensive strength, Oliseh warned against underestimating PSG’s attacking quality. According to him, the French side remains one of the most dangerous offensive teams in Europe, capable of punishing opponents at high speed.

The former midfielder also referenced last season’s final, where Inter Milan’s impressive defensive record proved insufficient against PSG’s attacking firepower.

Oliseh concluded by describing Arsenal and PSG as the two standout teams in this season’s competition, predicting a closely contested final between two sides with contrasting tactical strengths.
