The Committee for the Creation of Amaeze Autonomous Community in Imo State has reaffirmed Engr Magnus Agara as the Eze-elect of Amaeze/Amurie following weeks of review and verification surrounding his nomination.

This was contained in a statement signed by the administrative officer, Abamaji Victor, made available to journalists.

The committee’s decision comes after concerns were raised in some quarters regarding Engr Agara’s eligibility and the procedures adopted in his emergence as the pioneer traditional ruler of the proposed autonomous community.

In a move aimed at ensuring transparency, equity, and fairness, Engr Agara had personally requested the committee to conduct a detailed verification exercise to confirm his suitability for the exalted position and to ensure that all laid down procedures were strictly followed.

According to the committee, the verification process was designed to eliminate every possible obstacle that could hinder official recognition of his ascension to the throne by the state government.

After what was described as a painstaking review process, the committee announced that it was satisfied with the outcome of its findings and reaffirmed Engr Magnus Agara as the legitimate Eze-elect of Amaeze Amurie.

The committee further disclosed that all concerns and gray areas earlier identified by Engr Agara had been adequately addressed and resolved, assuring stakeholders that his emergence would no longer face opposition.

The development has since attracted strong political backing from leaders and political appointees across Isu, Nwangele, Njaba, and Nkwerre local government areas.

A delegation led by Hon Cosmos Maduba, apex leader of Isu and Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, paid a courtesy visit to Engr Agara to express solidarity and support for his emergence.

Other members of the delegation included Hon Emeka Ozurumba, member representing Isu State Constituency; Hon (Barr) Chisom Ojukwu, member representing Nkwerre State Constituency; Hon Ozioma Bennett Ebonine; and Rt Hon (Dr) Henry Agbasonu, representing Njaba and Ezinihitte Mbaise State Constituencies.

Also present were Hon Ikenna Emeh, former member of the Imo State House of Assembly; Hon Ifeanyi Oguzie, former Transition Committee Chairman of Isu and Hon Chris Ibe, APC chairman in Isu, among others.

The delegation pledged total support for Engr Agara and assured him of their commitment toward securing speedy and seamless recognition of his position by the state government.

Responding, Engr Magnus Agara expressed gratitude to the committee and the political leaders for their confidence in him, formally accepting his nomination as Eze-elect after satisfying himself that all outstanding issues had been resolved.
