Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has applauded the peaceful conduct of the just-concluded House of Representatives primaries for the nomination of candidates on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), across the state in 2027.

Speaking shortly after the nomination exercise in his ward, Ibiakpan Obotim II, Nsit Ubium local government area, the governor praised party members who turned out for the exercise for conducting themselves peacefully.

Despite pockets of protest against the consensus option that was programmed to favour government’s aspirants, the governor noted that from his personal experience and reports from across the state, the exercise was free, fair and transparent.

He congratulated the winners from across the state, especially Obong Paul Ekpo, member representing Etinan Federal Constituency, who won in Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II.

Governor Eno used the opportunity to officially consult his ward, and rallied support for President Bola Tinubu, himself, Senator Aniekan Bassey, Obong (Uyo); Paul Ekpo (Etinan Federal Constituency) and Rt. Hon. Otobong Bob, (Nsit Ubium State Constituency).

He announced that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has resumed its voter’s registration exercise and urged those who were yet to register to take advantage of the opportunity.

Besides, the governor commended party loyalists from his ward, as well as across the State for turning out en-masse, for the congresses and assured of continuous people- centric leadership.

The APC state deputy chairman, Mr. Aniekan Ekpo, thanked the governor for his quality leadership and infrastructural transformation in the state, and affirmed that the people of Ibiakpan Obotim II, would give total support to his re-election bid and that of all candidates of the APC.

On his part, the political leader of Ibiakpan Obotim II, Obong Friday Akpan, thanked the governor for the human capital and infrastructural development across Nsit Ubium local government area, and also assured of continuous support from the ward.

Also speaking, the APC Ward chairman, Hon. Jephter Tom, appreciated the governor for personally participating in the exercise, and for his humility to officially consult his ward.

He enumerated the numerous development strides of the governor both within the ward, and across the state, and assured that the ward will massively mobilize support to ensure massive victory for the governor and other APC candidates.
