Leadtimes Africa Magazine, in collaboration with Prowess University, Delaware, USA has concluded plans to hold its annual Good Governance Summit.
The summit, themed “Promoting Good Governance in Leadership Through Private Sector Participation cum Capacity Building Initiatives: Pathway to Sustainable Development in Africa,” is expected to attract top business leaders, academics, technocrats and public officials from across the country.
According to the Chairman of the Advisory Board and co-convener of Leadtimes Africa, Professor Buba S. Mshelia, the summit is designed to promote responsible leadership and celebrate individuals whose contributions have positively impacted society and national development.
Mshelia explained that selected Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in business, corporate governance, entrepreneurship, aviation, healthcare, maritime, logistics and public service would be honoured during the ceremony.
Among the prominent awardees is the Group CEO of Airfirst Group and Airfirst Maintenance and Engineering Limited (AFMEL), Engr. (Dr.) Gbolahan Olusegun Abatan, who will receive the Leadtimes Africa Global Leadership Excellence Award 2026 for his contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s aviation industry.
Mshelia described Abatan as a respected aviation professional whose over three decades of experience in aircraft maintenance and engineering management have earned him global recognition.
Also billed for recognition is the founder and chief executive officer of Rock International Company and Managing Director of Petcryl Ltd, Adindu Chidiebere Mbachu, for his entrepreneurial achievements and contributions to healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
The managing director, chief executive officer of Freightliner Logistics Services Limited, Dr Atu Christopher Iyennoman, is expected to receive the prestigious Leadtimes African Businessman of the Year Award for his role in advancing logistics services and enterprise development.
Other personalities slated for honours include the Managing Director of Delta Trust Mortgage Bank Ltd, Olorugun Dr Joshua Oghenejiru Muheen; the Director of External Affairs and Social Performance at Seplat Energy Plc, Chioma Yvonne Afe; and the Group Managing Director/CEO of Alpha Mead Group, Engr. Femi Akintunde, and President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi.
The managing director of Tantita Security Nigeria Ltd, High Chief (Engr.) Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, Chairman/CEO of First Marine and Engineering Services Ltd, Chief Joseph Penawou, and Group CEO of VMC Group, Amb. (Dr.) Azubuike Victor Chime is also among those expected to be honoured at the event, among others.
