Former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has commended residents of the state for their massive turnout during the nomination and re-election process for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

Ize-Iyamu, who is also an aspirant for the Edo South Senatorial District seat, said the participation of Edo people reflected their confidence in the Renewed Hope agenda of the Tinubu administration and their belief in the president’s leadership capacity.

Speaking through his spokesman, Chris Azebamwan, the APC chieftain described the development as a strong endorsement of the president’s economic reforms and commitment to national unity.

According to him, “Today, Edo people have spoken with one voice. Their massive participation is not just about an election; it is a resounding endorsement of visionary leadership, economic reform, and national unity under President Bola Tinubu.”

He praised residents of the state for what he termed their discipline, patriotism and commitment to democratic values, noting that their support signalled a desire for continuity, stability and progress at the federal level.

Ize-Iyamu also applauded Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo, for implementing people-oriented developmental projects across the state.

He said the governor’s initiatives were already yielding political goodwill among the people and strengthening support for President Tinubu ahead of the next presidential election.

“President Tinubu has shown courage in taking the tough decisions Nigeria needs to reset its economy and restore its global standing. With the governor’s development agenda aligning with the Renewed Hope vision, Edo State stands ready to play a pivotal role in delivering the second-term mandate and ensuring that the benefits of federal policies reach every community,” he stated.

The campaign organisation further urged political stakeholders in the state to sustain peace and unity as the political process progresses, stressing the need to focus on development, inclusion and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
