The President of the Revolutionary Government of Cuba, Miguel Diaz Canel has vowed to mobilise his people against the United States if President Donald Trump initiates any military aggression on Cuba as he has reportedly threatened.
The Cuban President in a statement issued by the Cuban Foreign Affairs Ministry, also called on the international community to prevail on the United States Government to shelve its threats of it military aggression Cuba, calling them an international crime even before they materialized.
“The threats of military aggression against Cuba from the largest power on the planet are known. The threat is already an international crime. If it materializes, it will cause a bloodbath with incalculable consequences, plus the destructive impact on regional peace and stability.
“Cuba does not pose a threat, nor does it have aggressive plans or intensions against any country. It does not have them against the United States, nor has it ever, which is well known to the government of that nation, especially its defense and national security agencies.
“Cuba, which is already suffering from multidimensional aggression by the United States, does have absolute and legitimate right to defend itself against a war onslaught, which cannot be used logically or honestly as an excuse to impose a war against the noble Cuban people,” he said.
The Cuban Government also condemned what it called “the despicable accusation” by the US Department of Justice announced on May 20 and proclaimed for several weeks against Army General Raul Castro Ruz leader of the Cuban Revolution.
It said the United States Government lacks the legitimacy and justification to carry out this action, saying “It is despicable and infamous act of political provocation based on dishonest manipulation of the incident that led to the downing of the in February 1996 of the two aircraft operated by the Miami-based terrorist organsaation -Brothers to the Rescue over Cuban airspace, which repeated violations of the Cuban airspace for hostile purposes were common knowledge .”
The Cuban Revolutionary Government said it is a new political and media maneuver by the United States government against Army General Raul Castro Ruz, and essentially, against the dignity and sovereignty of the Cuban people.
“This is profoundly unjust, manipulative and offensive accusation that attempts to rewrite history and legitimize new acts of pressure and punishment against Cuba. At times like these, it is vital that honest voices committed to the truth contribute to dismantling these campaigns and defending the right of the peoples to live free from aggression and blockades,” the statement added.
