Former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 general elections in Kebbi State.

His emergence was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by Mohammed Doka, Special Assistant on Media to Malami, and posted on the former minister’s X account.

Doka said Malami expressed appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters for their confidence in his candidature ahead of the election.

He also disclosed that Aminu Bande, a retired military officer, was affirmed as the party’s senatorial candidate for Kebbi Central, while Ibrahim Mera, a retired Deputy Comptroller-General, secured the ticket for Kebbi North. Garba Danjuma emerged as the candidate for Kebbi South Senatorial District.

According to the statement, Malami pledged commitment to leadership anchored on justice, security, and sustainable development in Kebbi State.

“Together, with unity and determination, we shall build a more prosperous future for generations to come,” the statement read.
