Niger State governor Abubakar Sani Bello has sworn in the 25 newly elected local government chairmen saying that impactful leadership cannot be realised without functional leadership at the third tier of government.
At the swearing-in ceremony that took place at the Government House, Minna, the governor called on the new council bosses to take leadership seriously and make impact in the lives of the people at the grassroots.
The governor who supervised the oath of office administered by the Chief Judge, who was represented by Justice Zainab Sadat of High Court V said, “As you are all aware, the local government councils are no doubt the closest tier of government to the people at the grassroots. Therefore, the impact of government policies cannot be felt by a larger number of people if there is no functional leadership at the local government level.”
