Leaders of the youth wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South South region have commended the reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while calling for stronger grassroots engagement to consolidate support for the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The position was made known during a strategic meeting and courtesy visit by South South APC youth leaders to the office of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The engagement brought together youth leaders, political stakeholders, and coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors from across Akwa Ibom State and the South South region to discuss strategies for deepening political mobilisation and youth participation.
Speaking during the meeting, the APC South South Youth Leader, Prince Avwomakpotor Koyoyo Uhrorho, said the Tinubu administration had demonstrated courage through reforms aimed at repositioning the Nigerian economy and strengthening national development.
He noted that despite current economic challenges, the administration had continued to pursue policies targeted at infrastructure renewal, economic recovery, improved revenue generation, and youth empowerment.
According to him, the party’s youth wing was committed to ensuring that the achievements of the administration were properly communicated to citizens at the grassroots level.
“We believe the Renewed Hope Agenda represents a practical pathway towards national growth and stability. Our responsibility as youth leaders is to engage directly with the people, counter misinformation, and mobilise support for the policies and programmes of government,” he said.
Uhrorho explained that the regional youth leadership had embarked on consultations with credible grassroots leaders across the South South to strengthen political participation and consolidate support for President Tinubu and the APC ahead of future elections.
He commended the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Obong Prince Ikim, for what he described as his commitment to grassroots mobilisation and youth engagement.
Responding, Prince Ikim said the Renewed Hope Agenda was already producing visible results through reforms in critical sectors of the economy.
He highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, the student loan initiative, power sector reforms, food security efforts, and revenue improvement policies as part of the administration’s achievements.
Ikim particularly described the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project as a transformative initiative capable of boosting economic activities and regional integration across the South South and South East.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda is not merely a political slogan. Nigerians are already witnessing practical reforms and development initiatives capable of repositioning the country for long-term growth,” he said.
He further urged youths across the region to remain united and committed to responsible political participation, civic engagement, and national development.
Prince Ikim also commended Senate President Godswill Akpabio, governors of the South South region, ministers, lawmakers, and other stakeholders for supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He particularly praised Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for what he described as inclusive leadership and development-driven governance through the ARISE Agenda.
The meeting featured the introduction of several coordinators and stakeholders of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Akwa Ibom State, including the Commissioner for Housing, Rt. Hon. Dr. Henry Archibong; Commissioner for Water Resources and Sanitation, Hon. Ubuo Effiong Ubuo; and other local government coordinators.
In his remarks, Dr. Henry Archibong appreciated the South South APC youth leadership for identifying with Akwa Ibom and applauded President Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, and Prince Ikim for creating opportunities for youths to contribute meaningfully to governance and national development.
The meeting ended with renewed commitments by youth leaders and political stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sustain support for the APC and President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
