Demonstrating its effective regulatory role in Nigeria’s maritime sector, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has intervened to resolve operational disagreements between SIFAX Group and AGL Logistics over the berthing of a vessel operated by AGL Logistics.

The intervention, led by the executive secretary of the Council, Dr Akutah Pius, reaffirmed the NSC’s commitment to seamless port operations, trade facilitation, and industrial harmony within the maritime industry.

The Council also underscored the importance of optimal utilisation of terminal facilities and the need to safeguard Nigeria’s maritime image through sustained collaboration among key stakeholders in the sector.

Following the Council’s mediation, the parties reached a mutual resolution on cargo evacuation and agreed on improved operational synergy going forward.

Management of both SIFAX Group and AGL Logistics commended the NSC for its swift intervention, describing it as a clear demonstration of effective regulatory oversight and commitment to resolving industry disputes.
