The Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA) has been crowned Nigeria’s Best Football Association following the successful conclusion of the 2026 N-Youth League grand finale in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.

The recognition came as Sporting Supreme Youth FC, representing the FCT, emerged champions of the nationwide youth competition after an impressive run against zonal winners from across the country.

The award, presented by organisers of the N-Youth League, acknowledged the FCT FA’s outstanding commitment to grassroots football and its vital role in the success of the competition. Organisers particularly praised the Association for facilitating the participation of eight FCT teams and providing quality playing facilities for league matches within the territory.

Reacting to the honour, Chairman of the FCT FA, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, described the recognition as a reward for sustained efforts to develop youth football in the nation’s capital.

“We have worked hard to be where we are today,” Mohammed said. “We have consistently supported teams and improved football infrastructure to aid training and competitions. Facilities in Bwari and Area 3 hosted most of the N-Youth League matches, reflecting our commitment to youth development, as they are the future of football in the FCT and Nigeria.”

He also congratulated Sporting Supreme Youth FC for lifting the national title, describing their triumph as richly deserved.

“I commend the management and players for their outstanding performance throughout the competition. This victory is well deserved,” he added, while praising other FCT teams that featured in the tournament.
