The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the organisers of Industrial and Commercial Expo Abuja 2026, have agreed to promote agribusiness, export expansion, investment attraction and industrial growth.

Consequently, the ministry has endorsed endorsement the expo holding in Abuja from July 28 to July 30, 2026.

The development followed engagements between the organisers and the Department of Agribusiness and Market Development, which has been designated to coordinate the ministry’s participation in the event.

The expo, according to the Stakeholders, will serve as a platform for bringing together government institutions, investors, manufacturers, exporters, financial institutions, development partners and entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities and strengthen economic partnerships.

In a communication to the organisers, the ministry said the objectives of the expo align with the federal government’s priorities on food security, agricultural commercialisation, value addition, export promotion, enterprise development, job creation, youth and women empowerment and sustainable economic growth.

As part of its support, the ministry recommended the inclusion of several high-impact programmes, including investment promotion sessions, business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking meetings, government-to-business (G2B) engagements, agribusiness innovation showcases, mechanisation demonstrations, export readiness forums, access-to-finance platforms and policy dialogue sessions.

It noted that such initiatives would help improve the investment climate, strengthen agricultural value chains, expand market opportunities and accelerate Nigeria’s economic diversification efforts.

Commenting on the endorsement, the coordinator of the expo and president/chief executive officer of African Legacy International Media Services Ltd, Engr. Innocent Ogu, described the development as a major boost to the event’s economic objectives.

He said the ministry’s support validates the expo’s role as a practical platform for connecting investors, businesses, government agencies and international stakeholders to drive industrialisation, enterprise growth and sustainable economic transformation.

Ogu said the organisers had intensified engagements with ministries, state governments, financial institutions, manufacturers, diplomatic missions, development partners and private sector stakeholders ahead of the event.
