The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to supporting ongoing efforts aimed at securing the safe rescue of abducted school victims in Oyo State.

Aneke gave the assurance on Saturday in Abuja during the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Second Quarter 2026 Route March Exercise.

He was represented at the event by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi, who said the Air Force remains fully committed to supporting joint security operations across the country.

He stressed that the service will continue to work in synergy with other security agencies to protect lives and property and advance national security objectives.

According to him, the route march exercise also reflects the Air Force’s commitment to the health, wellness, and physical fitness of its personnel, which he described as critical to operational effectiveness.

Aneke said a healthy and physically fit workforce is better positioned to meet the demands of modern military operations and contribute meaningfully to national security efforts.

He added that the exercise promotes teamwork, camaraderie, esprit de corps, and overall wellness among personnel, while strengthening cohesion necessary for effective service delivery.

The CAS urged personnel to embrace regular physical activity and healthy lifestyles to sustain both physical and mental well-being.

He also directed all personnel to participate actively in weekly Wednesday sporting activities across NAF bases to encourage fitness, discipline, and social cohesion.

According to him, the initiative will also support talent discovery for the Armed Forces of Nigeria Games and help discourage habits that could distract personnel from their duties.

Aneke expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his continued support toward the development and operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Air Force.

He also commended officers, airmen, airwomen, and civilian staff for their dedication and participation in the exercise, and praised the organisers for successfully hosting the Second Quarter 2026 Route March Exercise.
