buRenowned Nigerian music executive and producer, Michael Collins Ajereh, professionally known as Don Jazzy, has spoken candidly about the psychological impact of romantic rejection during his teenage years, disclosing that repeated rejections by girls in secondary school left lasting emotional scars that followed him into adulthood.

The Mavin Records boss made the revelation during an appearance on the Keeping It Real With Jima podcast, where he reflected openly on how his adolescent experiences shaped his mental and emotional development.

According to the music mogul, his appearance during his school years made him a frequent target of rejection, an experience he credits music with helping him survive. “I wasn’t good-looking during my secondary school days. Thank God for music because back then I was constantly being rejected by girls,” he said.

Don Jazzy further disclosed that even after achieving fame and success, the trauma of those early rejections continued to weigh on him. In an effort to find closure, he said he sought out the girls who had once turned him down, only to discover that nearly all of them had since married.
