Project Management Institute (PMI) has partnered with Cannes Lions to launch the LIONS Educators Forum, a global initiative aimed at strengthening collaboration between academia and the creative industries to better prepare students for the evolving world of work.
The PMI, which stated this, said the initiative was designed to address the growing need for closer alignment between classroom learning and the skills required in today’s rapidly changing, AI-enabled economy.
According to the organisation, the forum will focus on helping educators equip students with critical skills such as creativity, problem-solving, collaboration and adaptability, which are increasingly becoming essential across professions.
PMI chief marketing officer Menaka Gopinath said the LIONS Educators Forum would focus on developing future-ready curricula and strengthening pathways between education and employment.
She said the platform would provide educators with access to industry insights, collaborative discussions and resources needed to prepare students for careers in the creative sector.
Global Head of Strategic Learning Initiatives at Cannes Lions, Steve Latham, said the initiative was intended to strengthen links between education and industry at a time when creativity had become one of the most valuable skills in the global economy.
Gopinath noted that future workplaces would increasingly reward individuals who can transform ideas into practical outcomes, adding that the forum would help equip both students and educators with the skills required to deliver real-world impact.
PMI said it currently works with thousands of academic institutions worldwide, providing educators and students with industry-aligned tools and resources.
