Digital Equity Africa has launched its flagship international learning programme, the “Live in the Future” AI and Innovation Immersion Summer Camp in Shenzhen, China, aimed at exposing young Africans to cutting-edge technologies and innovation ecosystems shaping the future.

The initiative will see a select group of 30 participants aged between five and 17 years travel to Shenzhen, widely regarded as China’s Silicon Valley, for an intensive learning experience focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, smart manufacturing, emerging technologies and innovation.

According to the organisation, the programme is designed to give participants direct exposure to real-world applications of technology and innovation beyond traditional classroom learning.

With the theme, “Live in the Future,” the camp seeks to prepare African youths for a rapidly evolving digital world by allowing them to experience advanced technologies firsthand.

Participants will visit leading robotics companies, AI laboratories, innovation centres, technology parks, research institutions and advanced manufacturing facilities, where they will gain insights into how emerging technologies are transforming industries and societies.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Digital Equity Africa, Justina Oha, said the initiative is part of a broader effort to equip young Africans with the skills, knowledge and exposure needed to thrive in the global digital economy.
