The campaign for the re-election of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has received a boost as the Legislators’ and Executives’ Presidential Support Committee (TLEGATES-PSC) announced the activation of its grassroots mobilisation structures across the state ahead of the June 20 governorship election.

The group said the move is part of its strategic engagement to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s support base and ensure strong voter turnout for the governor’s re-election bid.

TLEGATES-PSC made the disclosure during a Democracy Day media briefing in Abuja, where it also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC leadership for the constitution of the party’s National Campaign Council for the Ekiti poll.

National coordinator of the group, Hon. Elijah Ettah, said the committee had already established operational structures and outreach networks across Ekiti State to complement the APC’s campaign machinery.

According to him, the mobilisation effort will focus on voter engagement, stakeholder coordination, and grassroots sensitisation aimed at consolidating support for the ruling party.

Ettah, who serves as Senior Legislative Aide on Political Matters to the President of the Senate, said the committee remains fully committed to contributing to what he described as the APC’s collective victory effort in the state.

Also speaking, the group’s spokesman and Head of Strategic Missions, Engr. Dr. Ozi-Raji Bill Williams, said TLEGATES-PSC had expanded its presence across Ekiti State and was preparing a series of campaign support engagements ahead of the election.

He disclosed that the group would hold press conferences and stakeholder engagement sessions in Ekiti on June 16 and June 18, where it would formally unveil its election support programmes.

Williams said the planned engagements would provide a platform for members of the APC National Campaign Council and the Ekiti State Governorship Campaign Council to interact directly with voters and address key issues ahead of the poll.

In a related development, the committee’s Director of Diaspora Affairs and Co-Secretary, Hon. Moses Owharo, expressed confidence in Governor Oyebanji’s re-election prospects, arguing that continuity in leadership would help sustain ongoing development projects across the state.

Owharo urged eligible voters in Ekiti to come out en masse and participate in the election, while calling on them to support the APC candidate at the polls.

The group also commended the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, who serves as Co-Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council for the election, alongside other party leaders involved in the campaign structure.

TLEGATES-PSC expressed optimism about the APC’s chances in the forthcoming governorship election and reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots mobilisation, voter engagement, and political coordination ahead of the poll.
