The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the postponement of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I orientation course for prospective corps members deployed to Niger State following damage to facilities at its orientation camp in Paiko.

The decision was announced by NYSC management in a statement issued on Sunday by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu.

According to the statement, the postponement became necessary due to ongoing renovation work at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko, which is being carried out by the Niger State Government after the facility suffered extensive damage from the windstorm.

The scheme explained that arrangements are currently underway to secure an alternative venue for the orientation course while repairs continue at the damaged camp.

Embu said a new commencement date, along with other relevant details, would be communicated to affected prospective corps members in due course.

She added that the management regretted any inconvenience the postponement may cause to corps members and their families, while appreciating their understanding and cooperation.
