Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has openly mocked the newly appointed Ambassador-designate to Mexico, Reno Omokri, over his delayed resumption of diplomatic duties.

Davido took to his Instagram page to share a video clip of Omokri’s recent interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today. In the video, Omokri addressed spreading rumours that the Mexican government had rejected his diplomatic posting. He explained that his resumption was only temporarily delayed because Mexico is currently occupied with co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Reacting directly to the interview clip, Davido used local slang to dismiss the explanation, writing, “UMU BINGO renoomokri fowl.”

President Bola Tinubu officially posted Omokri to Mexico as a non-career ambassador in March 2026, but the delayed resumption has continued to spark debates and reactions across social media platforms.
