The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially flagged off its campaign for the July 11, 2026 Egor Local Government Council election in Edo State, with the party’s candidate, Hon. Osaro Eribo, pledging broad-based grassroots transformation across the council area.

Eribo, who also serves as the Acting Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, made the commitment during the campaign flag-off held in Egor, where party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters gathered to energise mobilisation efforts ahead of the polls.

He assured residents that his administration, if elected, would accelerate development projects across all 10 wards of the local government, with emphasis on infrastructure renewal, social services, and improved security architecture.

“As we speak, I have graded 208 roads in Egor Local Government and we are still grading,” Eribo said. “We have also carried out desilting works along Uwasota and Textile Mill roads. I assure our people that my team and I will not disappoint them in fast-tracking development across all the 10 wards of Egor.”

Eribo attributed ongoing developmental strides to the support of Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo, particularly in the provision of heavy-duty equipment for road construction and rehabilitation across local government areas.

He noted that Egor was among the early beneficiaries of road grading initiatives even before additional tractors were deployed by the state government, describing it as evidence of proactive grassroots governance.

On infrastructure and social amenities, the APC candidate disclosed that the council had procured 10 transformers for distribution across the 10 wards to improve electricity supply and enhance community development.

He also highlighted ongoing security reforms, stating that the local vigilante structure had been expanded from about 50 personnel to 278, with plans underway to meet the state’s benchmark of 300 operatives per local government area.

Eribo further unveiled plans to construct an ultra-modern motor park at the Egor Vegetable Market, aimed at improving traffic management, boosting commercial activities, and creating a more orderly business environment. He also promised additional community projects, including public toilet facilities in strategic locations.

He expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC, Governor Okpebholo, and his political mentor, Hon. Crosby Eribo, for their continued support and guidance, describing them as key drivers of his political journey and administrative performance.

Earlier, the chairman of Egor Local Government Area, Chief Emmanuel Iyase, urged party members and supporters to remain united and committed to the APC, stressing that loyalty and cohesion within the party would translate into political success at the polls.

He commended members who remained steadfast despite challenges and called for intensified mobilisation efforts to secure victory in the forthcoming council election.

Party leaders at the event also inaugurated campaign councils across the 10 wards and charged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation to ensure a strong showing for the APC in Egor.
