Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland have completed the signing of Nigerian forward Stanley Iheanacho from Portuguese club CD Mafra.
The 21-year-old has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until December 2030, marking a return to familiar surroundings after leaving Midtjylland two years ago.
Iheanacho spent the last two seasons with Mafra, where he scored 17 goals in 65 appearances and established himself as one of the club’s most promising attacking talents.
The striker previously progressed through Midtjylland’s youth ranks and is relishing the opportunity to resume his development in Denmark.
“I already know many of the players because several of those I played with in the Under-19 team and at Mafra are now part of the first team,” Iheanacho told the club’s official website.
“I am excited to be back. I hope we can win trophies together and compete in the Europa League.”
Midtjylland believe Iheanacho’s familiarity with the club’s culture and playing philosophy will help him make an immediate impact as they prepare for the new campaign.
The move represents another significant step in the young Nigerian’s career as he looks to establish himself at senior level and fulfil his considerable potential.
